Queensland Flood Help

I live in beautiful Queensland, Australia where we are experiencing the worst floods in decades. In fact many parts of Australia are flooding, not just Queensland.

It's so sad to hear the sad stories of people losing their lives, many while trying to rescue others. Our SES rescue people have been fabulous throughout and no doubt will need a lot of counseling themselves as they have witnessed a lot of tragedy. Everyday people have volunteered their time to help clean up or offer clothing, food and accommodation.

This is a monumental disaster that will take years to recover from with some people not being insured and others finding out that the insurance companies are not covering them for flood. A lot of people just didn't have adequate insurance to cover the loss of absolutely everything they own.

If you would like to donate to the flood appeal please visit http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

Every little bit will certainly help no matter how small, it all adds up. It will take millions upon millions of dollars to rebuild peoples lives, homes and businesses. Whole towns have been demolished with the floods reaching three quarters of the state. New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania are also flooding and will no doubt also need help.

If anyone happens to read these posts please take the time to visit the Qld Government Flood Appeal Site to see if you can offer any financial assistance no matter how small.

I know I speak for everyone when I say our hearts go out to everyone being affected by these floods and especially to those who have lost loved ones.
