Princess Cut Engagement Rings
The Princess cut is the second most popular cut shape for diamonds, next to a round brilliant. The round brilliant is the standard engagement ring cut but the stunning square princess cut is quite striking. It all comes down to individual choice of course but after looking at some of the gorgeous princess cut engagement rings that are available, I’m sure you’ll fall in love.
Most square or rectangular cuts just don’t live up to the round brilliant for sparkle, but the Princess Cut was designed for getting maximum brilliance from a square cut. When choosing your Princess cut diamond it’s very important to ensure that the setting protects the four pointed corners. The corners are prone to chip which is why the setting has to protect the diamond.
The face-up shape of the princess cut is square or rectangular and the profile or side-on shape is similar to that of an inverted pyramid with four beveled sides. The princess cut is a relatively new diamond cut, having been created in the 1960s.

The princess cut is sometimes referred to as a square modified brilliant. However, while displaying the same high degree of brilliance, its faceting style is unique and completely different from that of a round brilliant.
The Princess cut had its origins in the early “French” cut, having a step-modified “Double-French” or “Cross” cut crown and a series of unique, chevron-shaped facets in the pavilion which combine to give a distinct cross-shaped reflection when the stone is viewed directly through the table. Effectively, the Princess cut combines the high degree of light return of a round brilliant cut with a distinctive square or rectangular shape.
While not the traditional engagement ring selection, princess cut engagement rings are very popular right now and make lovely engagement rings. A solitaire princess cut diamond ring is very elegant and eye catching but also looks exquisite with accent stones on either side.
Hilary Duff and pro hockey player Mike Comrie are married now but when they got engaged the beautiful ring was a Princess cut diamond. Reports say that it is a 14 carat princess cut diamond engagement ring worth $100,000 with a gorgeous setting.

Termite Inspection Brisbane
Yes we are right in the middle of termite season in SE Qld and as you know I have experienced termites first hand. It's not a nice feeling to be confronted with termites, in fact it makes you want to cry.
In hindsight I wish I had of been vigilant enough to get yearly termite inspections done but as I had never experienced termites before I just didn't worry about it. Big mistake! Huge mistake!
Had I spent the money to get a yearly inspection done it would have turned out to be way cheaper. As it turned out I needed quite a few repairs done and a major treatment to finally get rid of them.
If you're experiencing termites or would just like to have a termite inspection Brisbane then I can recommend Termite Guys Brisbane. An honest and reliable termite service which is exactly what you need when going through the shock of discovering termites.
Give Michael a call who will be only too happy to help you out.

Termite Inspection Gold Coast
Did you know that it's peak season for termites in Australia right now?
I know it's one of those things that are out of sight, out of mind. Don't be fooled into thinking that if you can't see them, they're not there. My family know all too well how that ends and it can be very costly. We stupidly never had yearly termite inspections but I wish we did as it would have saved us a lot of money. All Queensland families should have annual termite inspections done. The cost of a termite inspection will give you peace of mind and if termites are detected during a yearly inspection then at least they won't have been there long enough to cause any significant damage. Get your termite inspection Gold Coast pest controller to give your home a thorough going over, you won't regret it. Call Gary from Splat Termite Control Gold Coast on 0400 648 818. He also does general pest control if needed. I've attached a photo of termite tubes we discovered inside our walls. It was quite an intricate system that reached into 4 of our rooms in the house. We had to do some rebuilding and replacing of gyprock which fortunately my husband could do himself which helped with costs. Don't wait until it's too late.
