Bearded Dragon Cage – What’s Needed?
The ideal Bearded dragon cage or vivarium should be glass panels with a solid back panel. The front panel should always be glass. This is so you can see your Bearded Dragon pet but also so he can see you.
A Bearded Dragon cage for a baby dragon should not be too big as your dragon might not be able to find it’s water, food, shelters or basking spots. It’s best to start off with a small enclosure up to 30 inches or 76 cm long. As the dragon gets bigger the bearded dragon cage will need to be bigger also. The smallest enclosure for one or two adult bearded dragons would be a 6 foot by 2 foot (1800 x 600).
The enclosure has to be large enough otherwise the health of your dragon will suffer. It's important that they are given the room to climb and move around. There also has to be adequate ventilation either by air vents or a mesh top.
In warm climates a Bearded Dragon cage can be placed outside. The enclosure must have a screen or be covered. Ideally the outside enclosure would have a covered area to escape from the sun and rain and also an area exposed to the elements for sun basking. The enclosure also needs to be secure to protect the bearded dragon from predators such as foxes and cats etc.
Avoid placing outdoor enclosures on concrete as these surfaces absorb heat and it may become too hot. On top of grass or sandy soil would be good.
For an inside bearded dragon cage it is important to provide three things. The three things are lighting, heating and the right flooring or substrate.
Substrate can be newspaper, sand or sandy soil. If using sand make sure to clean it regularly by removing faeces. Sand can benefit by being sieved now and then and being completely changed every 4 weeks.
Bearded Dragons need UVB light for their health. In the wild they bask on top of rocks in the sun to absorb the rays and heat. In a Bearded Dragon cage you must provide UVB lights which is crucial for their development and the absorption of Calcium. Bearded Dragon diet and Bearded Dragon food is very important to get right but without the right UVB lighting it's impossible for your dragon to digest food and absorb calcium.
Lastly the heating is also important provided by an incandescent bulb. Place this 100 – 150 mm above a basking rock and preferably at one end of the enclosure. This way your Beardie has somewhere cool to retreat to when they have had enough heat.
Ideally it would be good to have an indoor and an outdoor cage if possible. This way you can be sure your Beardie is getting natural sunlight during the day. If you are able to take your Bearded dragon outdoors for natural sunlight then a UVB light in the indoor enclosure isn't really a requirement.

It’s no surprise why – It is sexy, glamorous and versatile look especially for night wear. To brighten smokey eyes for spring I like to add a pastel coloured shimmer over the top of the base darker colour such as pastel pink, purple or blue – Blend the same shimmer under the eye. Also, add a white shimmer in inner corner of the eye to brighten. Add mascara, liner and individual false lashes to finish eyes. Keep the lips natural by using a slightly tinted beige/pink color gloss or lipstick. A tinted shade of lip balm will also work for this look.
Coloured Eye Liners – Your eyes will come alive with these electric coloured eyeliners. The right coloured eyeliner will do wonders for your eyes. I suggest bright purple liner for brown eyes, taupe and deep green for green eyes and electric blue for blue eyes. Pick a corresponding eye shadow for the outer rim of the eye to soften and give you a monochrome effect. A flawless face best suits this look so use a good quality foundation (My favourite is Napoleon) and a neutral lip.

Try pastel pink lips colors (Cupcake icing and Nicki Minaj come to mind.) I recommend to use a color that embraces your facial features and skin tone in order to be able to feel confident. Larger curvier women throughout the ages have always worn corsets. In fact corsets were designed for the larger woman in mind originally because they make fuller figures look curvaceous and sexy. Today’s corsets are especially beautiful with many styles to pick from. Corsets can be worn with jeans or a skirt with a jacket over that for a sexy casual look. Corsets also look great worn over a long sleeved shirt.
The bedroom is one place where a corset will always have a huge impact.
Choosing which corset is for you the only problem you will have. There are so many materials such as leather, satin, lace, pvc, tapestry and the list goes onand on. Choosing between sexy and naughty, feminine and pretty and sensually beautiful is your only dilema. There are even great corset costumes for fancy dress. Monster High Costumes are the most sought after Halloween costume this year because of the popularity of Monster High Dolls Monster High was launched last year in 2010 and have quickly taken the world by storm. Monster High comes from the successful Mattel company and is only going to get bigger and better.
Monster Hiogh is full of teenage monster students who each come from famous legedary monsters and ghouls. Each of the teenage monsters has a condition that gives them their freaky flaw. Such as Frankie Stein being sewn together and having the difficult problem of coming apart at the seams.
Each of the Monster High characters have been made into a doll. Monster High Dolls have rapidly expanded to include more dolls even boy dolls. Monster High dolls are so popular because they keep adding more dolls and will be releasing even more in the future. There are even different series of each doll such as the Gloom Beach series and School’s Out series.
Due to popular demand Monster High have released Monster High Costumes of the main doll characters. There are Monster High Costumes that have been released for this Halloween bringing all the excitement and glamour to Halloween.
Finally a Halloween costume that looks good, it beats being an ugly witch. I think that’s what appeals to young girls the most. The Monster High characters are cool, hip teenagers and yes thay are freaky by nature but they are fashionable and trendy and really really cool. Monster High Halloween costumes and Monster High costumes for kids are definitely going to be a freakishly big hit this year.
Now girls can dress in their Monster High Costumes looking nice instead of dressing as some ugly old witch or boring ghost. Unfortunately the monster High Costume and wig do have to be purchased seperately. I have found that buying the both is the easiest but if you just want the wig which really is the most important part to achieve the look then you can put together your own outfit.
The Monster High Costumes that are available at the moment are based on the original release Monster High Dolls which are:
Frankie Stein – Her costume looks like the original Frankie Stein Doll. It’s a black and white plaid dress with the polka dot tie. The costume also comes with sleeves and leggings that have the stitch marks on them. There is also a Frankie Stein wig available which really is needed to complete the outfit.
Clawdeen Wolf – Clawdeen’s costume comes with purple skirt and studded belt, fur collared jacket and zebra striped top. The wig comes with little werewolf ears. Very cute!
Draculaura – Draculaura’s costume is a white pleated skirt, white lace collared top and pink vest. This really is an easy outfit to put together yourself as long as you have the wig of course.
Cleo De Nile – Cleo de Nile’s outfit includes leggings that look like bandages wrapped around her legs. This outfit would be a bit harder to reproduce on your own as the bandage look is a must to pull this off. Simply wrapping bandages aound your legs just wouldn’t look right.
Lagoona Blue – Lagoona’s costume includes litlle fins for the arms and legs and has a fish scale top. Lagoona’s wig is really pretty. You could make your own bag to go with this costume by attaching shells and starfish to a brightly colored plain bag.
Ghoulia Yelps – Ghoulia doesn’t have an official costume as yet but her outfit is easy to create. She wears red jeans with long black boots over them. You must have a long blue wig for Ghoulia and include her trademark cats eye glasses and your pretty close.
Monster High costumes are great to wear for any dress up occasion such as Halloween, a costume party or a birthday themed party based on Monster High.

A Bearded Dragon cage is also known as a vivarium and ideally it should be made of glass with a solid back panel or three aides solid with a glass front panel. This is so you can see your Bearded Dragon pet but also so he can see you.
A Bearded Dragon cage for a baby dragon should not be too big as your dragon might not be able to find it’s water, food, shelters or basking spots. It’s best to start off with a small enclosure up to 30 inches or 76 cm long. The Bearded Dragon cage will need to get bigger as you dragon grows. The smallest enclosure for one or two adult bearded dragons would be a 6 foot by 2 foot (1800 x 600).
The enclosure has to be large enough otherwise the health of your dragon will suffer. They need to be able to move around and climb. There also has to be adequate ventilation either by air vents or a mesh top.
You can place your Bearded Dragon cage outside in warm climates. The enclosure must have a screen or be covered. Ideally the outside enclosure would have a covered area to escape from the sun and rain and also an area exposed to the elements for sun basking. The enclosure also needs to be secure to protect the bearded dragon from predators such as foxes and cats etc.
Avoid placing outdoor enclosures on concrete as these surfaces absorb heat and it may become too hot. On top of grass or sandy soil would be good.
For an inside bearded dragon cage it is important to provide three things. The three things are lighting, heating and the right flooring or substrate.
Substrate can be newspaper, sand or sandy soil. Sand is the best but it will need to be kept clean by removing faeces with a scoop. Sand can benefit by being sieved now and then and being completely changed every 4 weeks.
It’s crucial for Bearded Dragon health to have UVB light. In the wild they bask on top of rocks in the sun to absorb the rays and heat. In a Bearded Dragon cage you must provide UVB lights which is crucial for their development and the absorption of Calcium. Bearded Dragon diet and Bearded Dragon food is very important to get right but without the right UVB lighting it’s impossible for your dragon to digest food and absorb calcium.
Lastly the heating is also important provided by an incandescent bulb. Place this 100 – 150 mm above a basking rock and preferably at one end of the enclosure. This gives your bearded Dragon a cool spot to go to when they have had enough heat.
Ideally it would be good to have an indoor and an outdoor cage if possible. This way you can be sure your Beardie is getting natural sunlight during the day. If you can do this then the UVB light in the indoor enclosure isn’t needed, just the heat light.

As most of Queensland’s major cities are coastal this is where we see the largest termite invasions and the most damage. Termites swarm mostly during Summer which is a sure sign that a termite colony is near by. The swarmers leave the original nest to set up new colonies. Detecting Termites
It pays to recognise termites signs. Detecting them is the first step in protecting your home because obviously the earlier you catch them the better. Homeowners should lookout for mud tubes leading up to and over the edge of concrete slabs, stumps and foundations. Also keep an eye out for any dried mud in the joins of doors, architraves and moulding as termites love to build their mud tunnels where they are not in plain sight. Blistering paint on doors and skirting boards can indicate that termites have eaten the wood beneath and only left a thin layer of paint resulting in the paint blistering. Check damp areas and look out for any moisture stains on walls. Any type of bulging of floor boards or walls and splintering of timber could all point to termites.
So what can Queensland homeowners do to stay vigilant and protect their homes from these silent and sneaky termite invaders?
Preventing Termites
To prevent termite entry you have to make sure that your home and yard are free of anything that might appeal to termites and also keep things clean and tidy so in case they do appear you can easily see them. The following list are just a few things to keep in mind to do your part in preventing termites in the first place.
Keep your home clean from any rubbish, debris and timber lying around. Don’t store firewood or have any timber, dead branches and building materials lying directly on the ground around your yard. Store firewood or timber by raising it off the ground on a metal stand or on a concrete slab. This way if termites do make a tunnel to get to your stored timber at least you can see them and stop them in their tracks before they get into your house.
Keep gardens tidy by removing any thick overgrown plants from around your home. Thick vegetation creates areas of intense moisture which attracts termites.
Any building done around your home such as retaining walls, decks, pergolas, garden beds, fences, in fact any timber structures must be built using treated timber. For pergolas and decks use metal supports for the posts. These metal supports are then bolted to concrete, the timber posts are fitted to the supports keeping timber off the ground.
All vents to sub floor areas must remain unblocked to encourage airflow and keep the sub floor dry.
If your house is built on a concrete slab then make sure the edge of the slab is visible at all times as well as the weep holes. So whilst garden beds might look nice it’s a bad idea to build them up against house walls. It makes it impossible to see the edge of the slab and if it’s covering weep holes then it’s a direct entry point for termites.
Garden mulch is not such a good idea as it might be good for gardens but it provides food for termmites. It provides them with a food source and because it’s not usually far from your house the termites will graduate from mulch to house prettuy quickly. There are mulches available that aren’t made of wood chips or bark.
You may have noticed metal termite shields that are found around the foundations of houses. They are designed to force termites out into the open but they need to be monitored and musn’t be damaged.
Termites need water and moisture attracts them. Any leaking taps, pipes or water that pools up around your home are all invites to the termites. Fix any leaks and drainage problems to prevent this problem.
Look out for any cracks or holes aropund the foundation of your home and seal them. An entry point as thiack as a piece of peper is all the termites need to gain entry.
Finally the best preventative thing all homeowners can do is to get your home inspected for termites annually. It is better to have the peace of mind with an annual check. It’s a lot cheaper to have regular inspections than to discover a damaging infestation and not only have to have a complete treatment but have to rebuild and repair any damage. It is not uncommon for termites to completely destroy homes to the point of needing a total rebuild.
Treating Termites
If you are unfortunate enough to have discovered termites then you have to get them treated. There are a few different methods in achieving this but by far the best is using a non repellant chemical barrier. A non repallant barrier has the advantage of allowing the termites to move back and forth through the barrier as they can’t detect it’s there and pick up a lethal dose which will either kill them or be taken back and passed around the colony.
The one thing about termites is that they are resistant. Treating termites just won’t work in the long term, professionals have to be called in. If you do succeed in removing them from one spot they will appear somewhere else. As a colony they have invested too much time, sometimes years in establishing themselves and finding a massive food source (your house) to just retreat. Termites will not give up until they find an entry point into your house.

It’s no surprise why – It is sexy, glamorous and versatile look especially for night wear. To brighten smokey eyes for spring I like to add a pastel coloured shimmer over the top of the base darker colour such as pastel pink, purple or blue – Blend the same shimmer under the eye. Also, add a white shimmer in inner corner of the eye to brighten. Add mascara, liner and individual false lashes to finish eyes. Keep the lips natural by using a slightly tinted beige/pink color gloss or lipstick. A tinted shade of lip balm will also work for this look.
Coloured Eye Liners – Spring new life into your makeup with electric coloured eyeliner that makes your eyes POP! The right coloured eyeliner will do wonders for your eyes. I suggest bright purple liner for brown eyes, taupe and deep green for green eyes and electric blue for blue eyes. Pick a corresponding eye shadow for the outer rim of the eye to soften and give you a monochrome effect. A flawless face best suits this look so use a good quality foundation (My favourite is Napoleon) and a neutral lip.

Miranda Kerr pulled this sexy look off at David Jones Spring/Summer 2011 season launch. Try juicy orange lips or ease in with softer peachy/Coral shades. Try matt or juicy red and candy pink lips (Think a bowl of fresh fruit punch yum!) These colors all make a serious statement and will turn heads. Try pastel pink lips colors (Cupcake icing and Nicki Minaj come to mind.) I recommend to use a color that embraces your facial features and skin tone in order to be able to feel confident. When creating a look with bold lips, I like to keep the rest of the make-up fairly natural by creating flawless look using foundation. Emphasize the eyelashes using a black colored mascara. Keep the rest of the eyes natural also – A white shimmer dust to brighten the eye then a puta color in the eyelid crease to give the eye definition. Also, keep the eyeliner minimal – I recommend using a product by Sephora in ‘Noir Black on the top lid only. I love using this liquid liner as it has a super thin brush which makes it is easy to create a thin, even line.
